The salary range is $75,160 to $97,409 based on education and experience. Please note the salary amount within this posting is reflective of the 2024-25 salary amounts and does not include any legislatively funded COLA for the 2025-26 year. For applicants relocating to the LCC's service district, we are able to provide up to $5,000 in relocation funds in accordance with our travel policies.

The Department of Languages & Literature seeks a qualified candidate for a full-time, tenure-track Spanish instructor. We require an equity-minded colleague who places students at the center of decision making; is innovative and collaborative; values engagement; maintains open and efficient communication with students, faculty, staff, and administration; makes decisions informed by student-success data, assessment, reflection, and completion; seeks opportunities to grow professionally and model current practices within their discipline; establishes and maintains an inclusive-classroom culture with respect to the diverse and lived experiences, values, beliefs, and practices of others; is technologically savvy; and has experience and desire to develop courses and deliver instruction through multiple modalities.

The Faculty position is 173 contract days (fall, winter, spring) with an anticipated start of September 2025. The Spanish Faculty reports to the Dean of Instruction. Courses are delivered through multiple modalities including online, hybrid, and in-person.

Requisitos 

Minimum Qualifications

  • MA in Spanish, Spanish Education, or a related degree from an accredited institution 
  • Two years of experience teaching Spanish at the secondary, community college, or university level
  • Ability to speak/write Spanish at or near native level
  • Willingness and ability to teach in various modalities (face-to-face, hybrid, online)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Training and professional development related to teaching Spanish
  • Demonstrated familiarity with Spanish culture and diverse language practices.
  • Dedication to increasing inclusivity and closing opportunity gaps for historically marginalized students with intentional curriculum and instruction design
  • Prior experience that demonstrates effective communication in person and in writing
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and in an inclusive manner with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population
  • Three years of experience teaching Spanish at the community college level
  • Familiarity with recent pedagogical developments in the field of Spanish language learning
  • Experience using a variety of teaching and assessment techniques that engage students and emphasize interaction
  • Experience with, understanding of, or demonstrated interest in LCC Languages & Literature Department’s Points of Pride and Current Projects, which include:

    - OER, AER, and other low cost materials for many courses 
    - Culturally responsive teaching practices
    - Club & Activities Advisors
    - Accessibility Focused
